The Michigan District Optimists, in partnership with Optimist International and the Optimist International Foundation, proudly present the Childhood Health & Wellness Program. This initiative aims to tackle a wide range of childhood health issues, ensuring a broader impact on our communities.

Program Focus Areas
Healthy Lifestyles
Addressing child obesity, promoting healthy eating, encouraging physical fitness, and supporting initiatives like the March of Dimes.
Chronic Diseases
Supporting children with cancer, juvenile diabetes, HIV, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and sickle cell anemia.
Mental Health
Focusing on issues such as depression, bullying, and abuse to ensure mental well-being.
Disabilities – Physical, Intellectual & Developmental
Supporting children with autism and participating in events like the Special Olympics.
Empower Your Community with a Grant
Clubs are encouraged to develop programs to promote the mission of Childhood Health and Wellness. The form will collect your club information, program details, and funding details.
If you are not a club, here is a link to find a club in your area to discuss program opportunities.
All questions should be directed to the Committee Chair at chw@michiganoptimists.org.
- Grants will be awarded in $250 to $500 increments
- Grant winners will be called within 2 weeks after the end of program.
- Checks will be mailed to the club.
