The Candidate Qualifications Committee of the Michigan District Optimists is pleased to announce that preparations are officially underway for the selection of the 2026–2027 Governor-Elect for the Mighty Michigan District.
As part of this important leadership development process, the committee will host an upcoming Meet and Greet Session for members who are interested in serving in this vital district leadership role. This session is designed to provide prospective candidates with an opportunity to connect directly with committee members, gain insight into the responsibilities of the Governor-Elect position, and ask questions regarding qualifications and expectations associated with district leadership.
Meet and Greet Session Details
Date: Monday, March 30, 2026
Time: Evening (specific time will be communicated directly)
Later this month, committee members will begin personally reaching out to potential candidates to invite them to attend the Meet and Greet session.
The committee strongly encourages any member who is interested in serving as Governor of the Mighty Michigan District—or anyone who knows of a qualified member who may be interested—to come forward. Expressions of interest and candidate recommendations are welcomed by Immediate Past Governor Sean Mueller at PastGovernor@MichiganOptimists.org.
