OptiViews 2020-21 Q4 is Available

Everyone is talking about it. It’s the first thing we mention when we meet with someone we last saw 15 months ago. It was a long hard year, it was a long lonely winter. It was a long and winding road. Optimists and clubs throughout the Michigan District persevered – some hit the ‘pause’ button, some kept pressing on to greater achievements. We did a lot of Zooming so we could stay connected but now with summer breezes beckoning and spaces opening, we are ready to emerge, engage and GO!

When we say GO, we mean let’s get out and get our plans moving and start a Pandemic of Optimism! We have been patient, however, now is the time to GO for the kids. They need us more than ever!

HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS! There are 3 unbelievable incentives available for your club to GO and GROW! I know that you have been waiting to do this, to put some crazy energy back into your membership and your meetings, projects and events! Which one of the following (or all of them, that works too!) best fits your club??

Now through August 15, 2021 – When you add a new member to an existing Optimist club, your club will be rewarded by the Michigan District! You must retain that new member on your club roster until November 1, then your club will receive a $30 reimbursement check (per member) from the District Club dues must be paid in full by the end of 4th Quarter to receive this ‘stimulus’ money! This membership incentive is for regular memberships as well as Friends of Optimist members (NOW that is a sweet deal!). Limited to the first 100 new members added between May 15 – August 15! Now GO!

June 1st – September 30, 2021 – For any new members added to your club roster, Optimist International is waiving the $15 administration fee! Think about it, you could add a new member – tell them it is a free 1st Quarter for them, no dues required and you would not be getting an invoice for them until October 1st. Great way to ‘introduce’ the new member to your club with no strings attached and dazzle them with how your club helps children and builds relationships with club members. This membership discount does not apply to new Friend of Optimists members.

And if that wasn’t just about the best news ever, there’s MORE!

July 1 – September 30 – We know you want to be a Distinguished club, give your Club President and Lt. Governor the distinction of being Distinguished and we know you have been waiting patiently to put your New Club Building plan into action. For the first five new clubs built, in Michigan, the District will reimburse each sponsor club $150 each. This leaves a very small amount that the sponsor clubs have to provide for the New Club charter fee. Great opportunity for your club to build a traditional club, a ‘club within a club’ or a special focus club and to further grow Optimism for a community and for the children.

I am at the last stretch in my road as your Governor. This has been an insightful time for me – I have gotten very close to clubs that needed help, have gotten to know the movers and the shakers in our esteemed District and have enjoyed every single inch of this Long and Winding Road. There’s much left to do and the rubber is on the road, our engines have started!
