Dear Michigan Optimists,
As we step into the Quarter 3, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible success of our Winter District Zoom Gathering in Quarter 2. Over 70 Optimists registered for the event, and we had a fantastic time diving into the second part of our mission: Optimists Bring Out the Best in Our COMMUNITIES – Part 1. The brainstorming sessions were full of energy and collaboration, and I’m thrilled that the ideas and discussions will continue at our upcoming Spring District Gathering in May.
A big thank you to our District Foundation Rep., Dan Mills, for organizing our successful Virtual Trivia event to support the Optimist International Foundation. It was a fun and meaningful way to give back to the foundation that helps so many.
As we start this quarter, we are focusing on Optimists Bring Out the Best in Our COMMUNITIES – Part 2.
It’s inspiring to see the clubs across our District engaged and committed to making a difference in their communities. Whether it’s through our International Scholarship Programs like the Essay and Oratorical contests, hosting amazing fundraising events like Mt. Pleasant’s Raffle Dinner and Battle Creek-Harper Creek’s Mardi Gras Party, or supporting the newly chartered Junior Optimist Clubs in Mt. Pleasant and Southfield (Southfield University Academy Junior Optimist Club), Optimists in the Mighty Michigan District are truly making an impact!
I am excited to announce that registration is now open for our Spring District Gathering at Saginaw Valley State University (my alma mater!) on Saturday May 17. We have more exciting brainstorming sessions planned, as well as the chance to celebrate the winners of the Essay Contest and witness the District Oratorical Contest in action. I look forward to seeing all of you there as we continue to Bring Out the Best in Our COMMUNITIES!
Thank you for all the work you do every day to support the communities we serve.
As always, Stay Optimistic!
