Do you have a story to tell about perseverance and hope? The Optimist International Oratorical Contest is back for the 2024-2025 season, offering young speakers a chance to share their thoughts on this year’s theme:
Topic: “How Optimism Has Guided Me Through Trying Times”
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, sharpen their public speaking skills, and compete for scholarship awards!
Who Can Participate?
The contest is open to students who:
✔️ Are under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2024
✔️ Have not yet completed secondary school (or its equivalent)
✔️ Are students, including those in CEGEP programs in Québec, Canada
✔️ Have a passion for speaking and sharing their experiences!
There is no minimum age requirement, so all eligible students are encouraged to participate.
How to Enter
Interested students should submit a speech on the assigned topic to their local Optimist Club.

Each local Optimist Club determines its own deadline, but most contests take place by late March 2025. Be sure to check with your local club for exact details!
