Get ready, young golfers! The Michigan District Optimist Junior Golf Tournament is back for 2025, offering a fantastic opportunity for junior players to showcase their talents and earn a spot at the prestigious Optimist International Junior Golf Championships in Florida.
Event Details:
- Date: Monday-Tuesday, June 16-17, 2025
- Location: Forest Akers East Golf Club, East Lansing, Michigan
- Divisions:
- Boys 10–11, 12–13, 14–15, 16–18
- Girls 10–12, 13–14, 15–18
Players will compete within their age divisions, determined by their age as of July 18 – 30th.
Registration:
- Deadline to Register: Friday, June 13, 2025, at Midnight
- Fee: $75.00 – $160.00 (+$45.00 for non-members)
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged!
Path to the International Championships:
Winners of each division may qualify for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at Trump National Doral, Miami, Florida, one of the world’s premier junior golf tournaments. It’s a chance to compete against top junior players from around the globe!
Eligibility:
- Open to Michigan residents.
- Players must not have started college before July 18, 2025.
- Proof of age will be required.

Donations:
This year, for every dollar the Junior Golf Committee raises through donations via clubs, corporate, or personal sponsorships, the Michigan District has agreed to match whatever we raise dollar to dollar, up to $2,000. We are hoping to raise at a minimum the $2,000 amount, but really would like to raise even more. We are asking for donations for this program to assist these young adults in attaining their dream of playing in a world-class event, on a world-class golf course, against world-class competition.
If you wish to donate, there are two ways to do so:
