The Junior Optimist International (JOI) Michigan District is hosting our short monthly Zoom gathering for April! The Zoom will be held on April 25th from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM. We invite all Junior Optimist Clubs across the state of Michigan to come and attend our gathering, where we will discuss service projects, upcoming events, summer Jobs, and more!
What to Expect:
-
- Icebreaker: We will begin, as always, with introducing one another. Then, we’ll kick things off by having everyone share service project ideas to get us thinking about our impact and how we can assist our community.
- Updates on project-> Milkweed for Monarchs: We will share recent news of our Spring project, Milkweed for Monarchs. Including a detailed process of how to stratify and plant seeds!
- Service Opportunity -> Kidney Walk: We will share news of an upcoming event run by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan called the “Kidney Walk,” which will take place at the Detroit Zoo on May 17th.
-
- National JOI Summit: Learn more about the upcoming National JOI Summit in St. Louis, Missouri (July 17–20).
- Literacy Tutoring: We will discuss some prevalent issues in the State of Michigan and some ideas on how to ameliorate these problems by discussing helpful organizations and service efforts.
