MIJOI May Summit Gathering

The Junior Optimist International (JOI) Michigan District is hosting its annual in-person May Summit! The gathering will be held at the Costick Center on 11 Mile Road. It will run from 10 AM to 2 PM on May 30th. 

 

To attend the Summit, you must pay $10 up front!

 

What to Expect: 

    • Icebreaker: We will share recent community projects to get to know one another and catch up on recent JOI events.
    • State Updates: We will rehash on recent plans that the state has to share, such as District-wide projects for the summer.
  • Lunch Break! – We will have an assortment of snacks and catering to offer to attendees! 
  • Elections: We will hold our annual elections for our next state officers!

    • Club Awards: We will reward our district clubs that have shown the most commitment and optimism this year!
    • National JOI Summit: Learn more about the upcoming National JOI Summit in St. Louis, Missouri (July 17–20).
    • Updates on project-> Milkweed for Monarchs: We will share recent news of our project, Milkweed for Monarchs. Including a detailed process of how to stratify and plant seeds!
  • Literacy Tutoring: We will discuss some prevalent issues in the State of Michigan and some ideas on how to ameliorate these problems by discussing helpful organizations and service efforts.
  • We will wrap up by introducing our new State Board and reciting the Optimist Creed!
